Replace those missing teeth so you won’t stand out in a crowd!
Teeth Implants are one of the major advents in dentistry over the last decade. Dental Implants replicate what nature intended as it is composed of a titanium implant (the root) and a porcelain crown (the tooth).
Advantages of dental implants are their supreme longevity, comfort and aesthetic. Once placed successfully, implants have a very high chance of lasting the rest of your life.
Disadvantages of dental implants are their relative complexity and cost.
What are dental Implants?
Implants are tooth roots made of titanium. These metallic anchors act as root substitutes. Dental Implants are surgically placed into the jawbone; the bone then integrates with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth (the process is called osseo-integration). Small posts called abutments are then attached to the implant which in turn supports the implant crown. Dental implants can be used to replace a single lost tooth or many missing teeth. Implants also help preserve facial structure, preventing the bone loss, which occurs when teeth are missing for extended period of time.
While high-tech in nature and expensive, dental implants are actually more conservative than traditional bridgework, since implants do not rely on neighbouring teeth for support. They are stand alone structures which relies solely on the bone for support.
